Here's another great reason to invest in real estate in Lancaster County.  MSNBC recently ran an article based on research Zillow.com performed, showing the areas in the US where you can find the least amount of homeowners underwater with their mortgage.  Underwater is a term used to describe a homeowner who owes more on their mortgage than their home is currently worth.  

Lancaster County, with its conservative nature, has been able to weather the economic storm better than others.  We caught on late to the housing bubble which kept prices from getting out of hand and we have stricter than normal lending policies which kept appraisals from getting out of hand.  With the market now recovering from the slowdown, we have less room to make up than others.  Here's a link to the article.
